Problem solving, Mental Math.

Basic operations with decimals:

  • Calculate the result of multiplications, addition, subtractions and divisions with decimals.

Word Problems:

  • Read carefully the situations and get the result with basic operations.

Metric System:

  • Measure, record length, area, mass, capacity, volume, etc. using the correct metric measurement system such as: cm, cm2, cm3,etc

Metric Unit Selection:

  • Choose the most appropriate unit of the metric system to measure different lengths, heights, etc. in a given real life situation.


  • Solve problems requiring conversion from larger to smaller metric units.

  • Determine, using concrete material, the relationship between units used to measure area and apply it to solve conversions.

Prism Formulas to get Volume:

  • Determine the relationship between the length, width and height, the area of the base to get the volume of a prism .

  • Use the formulas to get the volume of : a cube, triangular prism, rectangular prism and cylinder.

Estimating and Precise measurements and amounts :

  • Show the relationship between estimating and getting the precise measurements and values. determine and justify when each kind is appropriate.

Three Dimensional Models:

  • Draw and identify three dimensional models using connecting cubes, sketches or different views of the structure: top side, front side and left or right side.


  • Identify and demonstrate the different ways in which variables are used: in additions, subtractions, divisions and multiplications.

Clockwise and Counterclockwise Rotation:

  • Identify rotation clockwise and counterclockwise direction of different figures.

Circuits (Review)

  • Identify the elements and describe how parallel and series circuit work.

Electricity device

  • Explain and describe how you designed, built, and tested a device that produces electricity.(e.g. battery built from lemons or potatoes)

Electricity Device transformation

  • Explain the different ways electrical that an electrical device transforms electrical energy into another form to perform a function: sounds, movements, light, heat, etc

  • Explain how your device transformed electrical energy into another form in order to perform a function (e.g. a device that makes sound hat moves, those lights up).

Air and its properties (Review)

  • Describe the properties of air.

  • Describe how we know that air is here.



Healthy habits

  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic first-aid procedure.

  • Analyze the use and abuse of prescription and non-prescription medication.

Safe behaviors:

  • Demonstrate strategies for the prevention of a response to deliberate and accidental injuries such as: safety habits in vehicles, bike and dangers on the internet.

Assertiveness skills:

  • Identify to say “no” to outside pressure and the importance of refusing to participate in anything that could harm themselves or others.

Setting objectives:

  • Comprehend the steps of a decision- making process: stop, explore and go. Identify when his / her personal standards might at risk and establish personal goals that affirm personal standards.

Exploring consequences:

  • Identify short-term and long – term consequences and explore alternatives available to her against expectations, of others and self, to determine priorities when making responsible decisions..

Making decisions:

  • Identify factors that affect decision making and formulate a goal statement based on his /her analysis.
